Finally, the successor of Microsoft’s Surface Pro 3, Surface Pro 4 has finally been announced by the company, so let us check out all the hardware specifications of the newly announced slate to see what upgrades have been incorporated in to it.
Surface Pro 4 Officially Announced – Sports A Whopping 16GB Of RAM And A Screen Size Larger Than Its Predecessor
During Microsoft’s event, the company announced its Surface Pro 4, and started off with a bang by stating that the slate features a 12.3 Pixel Sense Display. The screen size of the newly announced tablet is slightly larger than Surface Pro 3, but according to the company, it will not impede the productivity element of the consumer. For processing capabilities, Surface Pro 4 has been incorporated with Intel’s 6th generation Skylake processor, which is 30 percent faster than its predecessor, and to top it all, the 12.3 inch slate is also 50 percent faster than Apple’s 12 inch MacBook Air.
Microsoft has also upgraded its Surface Pen (this is the only accessory that will be bundled with Surface Pro 4), and according to the company, it has 1,024 levels of pressure. The company wants the end user to experience the writing fluidity of Surface Pen as equivalent to using an actual pen on a paper. The accessory also has a magnetic contact present on it that will allow it to be attached to a Surface Pro 4 without requiring a pen holder to keep it in its original position. In terms of hardware, as we stated earlier, the slate is armed with Intel’s 6th generation processor, and the highest model comes with 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage.
There is also a hybrid cooling solution that will prevent the components from heating up. Furthermore, Surface Pro 4 is lighter and slimmer than its predecessor and has a thickness that only measures in at 8.4mm. According to the company, they could have made the slate even thinner, but that would compromise on one crucial feature, and that happens to be its USB 3.0 port.
Surface Pro 4 will start from $899 and after looking at all the specifications, do you believe that Surface Pro 4 is a sizable upgrade over its predecessor? Let us know your thoughts.
