Impressive Star Ocean 5 Hi-Res In Game Screenshots Show Off The World and Combat

In the wake of the recent unveiling of the next installment in the Star Ocean franchise, Square Enix has seen fit to bless us with some incredible high resolution screenshots of their game to be, Star Ocean 5: Integrity and Faithlessness. Gematsu has kindly been able to translate and provide us with these beauties.

Revel in the majesty of these absolutely amazing Star Ocean 5 screenshots.

The art style and atmosphere is certainly JRPG in nature, but whether you enjoy JRPG’s or not, this is one fantastic looking game. These shots show off some very high poly count models as well as great looking textures. Mind you, this is only a glimpse at pre-alpha progress, but if this is the very early work, then I think we might have a winner on our hands.
Supposedly these magnificent Star Ocean 5 screenshots are being rendered on the PS4 itself and they give us a look at what combat looks like, as well as the environment itself and the wonderfully constructed character models.

Square Enix is no stranger to sneak peaks by any means, and they certainly love to tease their fans with as much pre-release content as they can. It’s all in an effort to incite the hype train and get us to be as excited as possible.
The great news is that so long as Star Ocean 5 follows the basic principles set forth from it’s predecessors, then it should at least deliver on most of its promises.
Star Ocean 5: Integrity and Faithlessness will be out sometime later this year on the PS3 and the PS4. There is still no word on an actual release date, and of course we have no idea if it’ll actually make its way to the west. Though given the overly positive reception of the rest of the series it stands to reason that it’ll eventually have a western release.
