The latest installment in Ubisoft’s flagship open-world action series, Assassin’s Creed Rogue, arrives on PC.

Last year, Assassin’s Creed Rogue quietly launched on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 while most people were busy paying attention to Assassin’s Creed Unity. Months later, the title has finally arrived on the PC platform in deluxe form, ready to take advantage of powerful PC hardware.
“Developed by Ubisoft Sofia, in collaboration with Ubisoft’s Singapore, Montreal, Quebec, Chengdu, Milan and Bucharest studios,” reads a press release Ubisoft issued to mark the occasion, “Assassin’s Creed Rogue takes players to new adventures set in the mid-18th century during the Seven Years’ War. Starting in 1752, players follow Shay Patrick Cormac, a former member of the Brotherhood who turned into an Assassin Hunter, and experience the Assassin’s Creed universe through the eyes of a Templar.”
According to Ubisoft, the game was adapted for PC by the team at Ubisoft Kiev, which partnered with Tobii Tech to add eye tracking input to the game. The press release promises an “infinite screen” experience, and suggests that the technology will allow players to become immersed in the Assassin’s Creed universe like never before. It’s the first title in the series and the first game of this scale to feature the technology in such a manner.
The PC edition of the game is available in a deluxe edition that apparently includes a variety of extra in-game content not seen in the previous release, including new weapons, outfits, and even a new mission.
Ubisoft also shared the specs required to enjoy the game. PC players will need Windows 7 with Service Pack 1 or Windows 8/8.1 (64-bit versions only). On NVIDIA GeForce-powered rigs, Assassin’s Creed Rogue requires an Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 @ 2.4 GHz, 2GB of RAM and an NVIDIA GeForce GTS 450 video card or above. Other video cards are also supported, including the GeForce 500, 600, 700, and 900 series from NVIDIA. The press release notes that laptop versions of the referenced options may also work, but aren’t officially supported.
Assassin’s Creed Rogue is priced at $59.99 at launch, and is now available on PC. You can purchase it now from Steam, or look for it at your favorite retail location.
