Amidst several Xiaomi Mi 5 leaks, a new Xiaomi smartphone believed to be the Redmi 3 is said to have passed Tenaa, Chinese telecommunications certification authority.
Bearing model name Mi 2015811, the listing confirmed most of the specifications that have been surfacing on the Web for the past few months. The listing shows the smartphone, thought to be the Redmi 3, in images too.
As per the Tenaa listing of the Mi 2015811, thought to be the Xiaomi Redmi 3, the smartphone features a 5-inch HD (720x1280 pixels) resolution TFT display and will pack an octa-core CPU under-the-hood clocked at 1.5GHz that's clubbed with 2GB of RAM.
Furthermore, the 4G LTE-supporting handset in question might arrive featuring a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. Also seen in the Tenaa listing is 16GB of inbuilt storage, which can be expanded via microSD card (up to 128GB). The handset is said to run to measure 139.3x69.6x8.5mm and weigh 143 grams, and run Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. It will be available in Silver colour variant.
In images, the alleged Redmi 3 can be seen featuring a metal unibody design with Mi branding at the back. Also seen in the images is the rear camera accompanied by an LED flash. The front can be seen featuring capacitive navigation buttons for settings, home, and back. The right panel purportedly shows that the Redmi 3 will pack all physical buttons on the right panel. Previously, the Xiaomi Redmi 3 was leaked in a benchmark listing tipping some innards of the handset.
Apart from the Mi 2015811 aka Redmi 3, another Xiaomi smartphone has surfaced on the Tenaa listing dubbed Mi 2015812. The handset is listed to pack a 5.5-inch display, Snapdragon 808 processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB storage, and run Android 5.1 Lollipop. The Tenaa listing suggests that the Mi 2015812 may pack an 8-megapixel or 16-megapixel rear camera alongside a 5-megapixel front camera. The listing further details weight of the Mi 2015812 to be 166 grams and measure 8.7mm thick.
So far, there has been no word from Xiaomi on the launch of the Redmi 3.
