Among the high profile video games releasing in the first few months of 2016 for consoles and PC is the latest entry of the Street Fighter series, Street Fighter V. The new fighting game from Capcom is not only going to introduce some very interesting new mechanics but also a new way for players to unlock additional DLC characters that will be released throughout the year. Not much has been said about the first DLC characters after the PlayStation Experience 2015 earlier this month but some new details on them have emerged online earlier today thanks to a new interview.
In a new interview with Japanese website 4Gamer, Street Fighter V producer Koichi Sugiyama has talked about the first DLC characters that have been revealed for the game – Alex, Guile, Balrog, Ibuki, Juri and Urien. According to Mr. Sugiyama, there’s isn’t much to say about the characters at the moment, as they are still in the conceptual stages. Street Fighter V development team member Woshige, however, added that he already has some ideas on them so we will definitely hear more about them soon.
Mr. Sugiyama has also shared more on how the Street Fighter V DLC characters will be released. According to the game’s producer, the characters will be released one at a time and, for now, the team is thinking about releasing one every two months . Nothing has been set in stone right now so things may change.
Unlike other fighting games, where DLC characters must be purchased separately, in Street Fighter V players will also be able to unlock them by using Fight Money. This currency type can be obtained by completing Daily Challenges, play online and offline modes and more.
Street Fighter V will be released on February 2016 on PlayStation 4 and PC.
