iPhone 6s Declared Better Than Pro DSLR For Recording Video

With the release of the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus, Apple tossed in 4K video recording to the roster to further enhance the camera credentials of its smartphone lineup. According to a newly published video on YouTube, it has been declared that Cupertino’s new smartphone is a better choice for recording 4K video than a pro DSLR camera.

The revelation has been made by Fstoppers on YouTube, and they had this to say on the matter:

It’s absolutely stunning how one professional photographer has given such large praise to a smartphone and even goes on record saying that the iPhone 6s is a better choice for recording videos compared to his $3,000 pro DSLR rig.

Of course, the video recording credentials really shine on a smartphone level when the recording conditions are ideal, and that’s something which has been made prominent in the video above. But still, given that a professional is giving such praise to the iPhone 6s for its video recording capabilities, we have no other choice but to take his word for it, for the time being, of course.

During our own testing on an iPhone 6s, we noticed that the device is capable of churning out absolutely high quality images and videos, all thanks to its new 12-megapixel iSight camera sensor. But in low light conditions, we did realize that the iPhone 6s was struggling to keep up in terms of image quality, but in ideal conditions, the smartphone really knows how to translate those millions of pixels into a beautiful image or video.

We’re quite certain that the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus will turn out to be popular cameras for aspiring photographers and videographers in the days and months to come. And given that the iPhone already dominates the Flickr’s top camera list, it won’t be long when Apple’s latest flagships start making dents in the real world.

If you’re looking to use the iPhone 6s for recording videos, then we highly recommend that you opt for the 5.5-inch model (iPhone 6s Plus) as it features optical image stabilization, which ensures that all those shakes and jerks are cancelled out in the final image / video product. The smaller, 4.7-inch model also shines in the camera department, but it’s a better choice for taking quick snaps and recording video on the fly. But if you want a steady result throughout, the go for the iPhone 6s Plus without giving it a second thought.
