ASUS ROG MATRIX GTX 980 TI Platinum Graphics Card Announced

A few months ago, ASUS showed off new graphics cards based on the GeForce GTX 980 Ti GPU. These four included the ROG MATRIX GTX 980 Ti, STRIX GeForce GTX 980 Ti, GeForce GTX 980 Ti Poseidon and the GTX 980 Ti 20th Anniversary Edition. Now three of these four graphics cards have been launched in the market except the top ROG MATRIX based product which was teased by ASUS on their ROG Twitter page a couple of weeks back. The ROG MATRIX GTX 980 Ti Platinum is finally announced to the public today with a totally new design scheme for the ROG graphics cards.
From the looks of it, the latest ROG MATRIX cooler seems to feature the same cooler shroud and the design looks familiar to the current MATRIX cooler. The difference is mostly the shroud color theme and texturing while adopting the dual fan design. The card seems to be a standard dual-slot product and has a metallic surface which looks good but orange and brushed metallic silver color scheme. ASUS already went with red color on their STRIX GTX 980 Ti graphics card so it kind of makes sense to have a different color scheme on the ROG based graphics card. The cards will have impressive PCB designs to allow better over clocking and feature factory overclocks to boost performance over the reference offering. Some of these features include the Super Alloy Power II components along with the latest cooling solution that incorporates dual-fan design with Wing blade Fan technology that deliver 105% more air pressure to blow through the DirectCU II heatsink and its six 10mm heatpipes. ASUS hasn’t yet confirmed the clock speeds of the card but they can be expected to be high while offering additional room for overclocking. Pricing and availability is not confirmed either.

ROG Matrix GTX 980Ti Platinum gaming graphics card features DirectCU II with 10mm heat pipes for 25% cooler performance and three-times (3X) less noise than reference cards. Patented Wing-blade Fan technology maximizes airflow by delivering 105% more air pressure for more efficient cooling.
Auto-Extreme technology with Super Alloy Power II components ensures that each ROG Matrix GTX 980Ti Platinum graphics card is of the highest quality and is able to withstand the graphical demands of today’s gamers.
Memory Defroster is an ASUS-exclusive technology that takes overclocking to extremes – it defrosts the Matrix card’s memory during subzero overclocking to ensure sustained stability. ROG Matrix GTX 980Ti Platinum has a one-click Safe Mode that restores VBIOS to its original settings; while the color-coded ROG load indicator lets users check GPU load levels at a glance. It features GPU Tweak II, an intuitive user interface, which makes gaming and overclocking easier and more visual than ever. It also comes with a 1‑year XSplit Gamecaster premium license — a $99 value — so gamers can easily stream or record their gameplay via a convenient, in-game overlay.
