Titanfall 2 Won’t Release Until At Least April 2016

Titanfall 2 won’t be making an appearance until next year, according to EA’s CFO Blake Jorgensen. So if you were one of those that was waiting impatiently for the sequel to of one of the Xbox One’s launch titles, well, you’ll have to wait just a little bit longer.

EA let it slip in their investors conference call that Titanfall 2 won’t be seeing a release anytime this year. We’ll have to wait until at least April of 2016.

EA hosted their a conference call for investors yesterday, and one of the topics that came up concerned the release date of Titanfall 2. As it turns out, EA isn’t planning on releasing their fast-paced parkour shooter until at after the 2017 fiscal year, which gives us a date range of April 2016 to March 2017.

No particular reason was give, but again this was an investors call to lay out the general plans of the company for the near future and not a conference call to talk about Titanfall 2’s future. But it would certainly make sense given the already packed Holiday lineup of games coming this year. Given the lackluster enthusiasm for the first installment, this will give them the opportunity to focus solely on marketing the sequel, giving it all the attention it deserves.
Sure, Titanfall wasn’t exactly the most popular of games that’s ever been released. But it was still very polished and gave us a deep back story combined with some interesting multiplayer only gameplay. It lacked the pizazz that other shooters had, and otherwise lacked deeper content upon initial release. But it did run very well, and on the Source engine as well!
