Samsung Galaxy A7

Meet the Galaxy A7, Samsung's thinnest smartphone ever

Meet the Galaxy A7, Samsung's thinnest smartphone ever
While Samsung has yet to announce the Galaxy A7, we can now take a look at the handset in all its glory - thanks to the fact that it’s been approved by China’s Telecommunication Equipment Certification Center.

Part of Samsung’s Galaxy A series, the A7 doesn’t look too different from the Galaxy A5 and Galaxy A3, though it’s larger than both of them. We initially thought that the A7 would sport a 5.2 inch display, but that isn’t true. The new handset comes with a bigger, 5.5-inch 1080p screen, and measures 150.9 x 75.9 x 6.3 mm - thus being Samsung’s thinnest smartphone ever (just a tad slimmer than the 6.7mm Galaxy A5 and Galaxy Alpha).

China’s Telecommunication Equipment Certification Center seemingly confirms the fact that the Galaxy A7 is powered by a 64-bit, octa-core Snapdragon 615 processor clocked at 1.5 GHz. Other features include LTE connectivity, a 13 MP (not 12 MP) rear camera with LED flash, 5 MP front-facing camera, 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB of non-expandable internal memory, and Android 4.4.4 KitKat.

The Galaxy A7 that’s been approved in China has the model number SM-A7009, and is specifically made for the Chinese market. Samsung should officially announce the new handset pretty soon, so it won’t be long until we find out more about it.
