According to the latest configuration settings present on Apple’s MacBook website, the highest configured model is going to cost you $1,749. That is certainly not a small sum for something that is going to feature a Skylake Core M dual-core processor running at a speed of 1.3GHz (Turbo Boost clock takes that clock speed up to 3.1GHz). However, given its thickness, Apple had to make a boatload of sacrifices.

A Type-C USB port is still a part of the configuration, and before you ask, there are no additional ports present on the MacBook lineup apart from the 3.5mm headphone jack. However, Type-C has several advantages and according to the details listed on Apple’s website, this particular port provides support for the following:
  • USB 3.1 Gen 1 (up to 5 Gbps, although the maximum achievable speed is 10Gbps)
  • Native DisplayPort 1.2 video output
  • VGA output using USB-C VGA Multiport Adapter (sold separately)
  • HDMI video output using USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adapter (sold separately)


The 8GB of RAM will be running at DDR3 speeds, but Apple has made sure that the default clock speed starts from 1866MHz and the storage models will start from 256GB of PCIe flash storage and go all the way up to 512GB. On Apple’s website, the dimensions of the 12-inch MacBook has been listed below, according to other details as well:

The 12-inch MacBook lineup comes with a price tag of $1,299 and $1,599 and is available in the colors Rose Gold, Space Gray, Gold and Silver.
