Xiaomi Mi5 might not be the first handset to sport a Snapdragon 820 but it will most likely be the second smartphone. Lei Jun, who is the founder of the company has stated that the handset has entered production, indicating that it will not be long that we can finally witness the announcement of one of the most highly anticipated mobile products of 2016.
Xiaomi Mi5 Will Likely Have 4GB Of RAM, No MicroSD Card Slot, And A 3,600mAh Battery
According to Lei Jun’s Weibo account, Xiaomi Mi5 has entered production and is going to be announced during the month of February. Only recently, we reported that Letv Le One Max was the first smartphone to come incorporated with the 14nm FinFET LPP SoC. We should expect that Xiaomi Mi5 will be compatible with Quick Charge 3.0, and here’s hoping that the Chinese manufacturer is going to bundle a compatible smartphone charger that will allow users to take advantage of such a feature. Additionally, we have also posted a video of the capabilities of the fast-charging feature so be sure that you watch that too.
There have been numerous reports suggesting that the upcoming handset is going to feature a fingerprint sensor, but thanks to featuring Qualcomm’s flagship SoC, it appears that the chipset itself will deliver the industry’s first ever Snapdragon Sense ID fingerprint tech. According to the company, this tech happens to be the first comprehensive ultrasonic-based fingerprint biometric solution, and is able to deliver a much more secure and reliable alternative as opposed to capacitive-based fingerprint sensors that are ubiquitously present in mobile devices all around us.
Other specifications that will be a part of the impressive configuration is 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM, and a 5.2 inch screen size with a resolution of 1440p. Since Xiaomi has an affinity of not incorporating important features such as a MicroSD card slot or a removable battery due to the fact that it will comprise the overall quality and performance of the smartphone, (at least according to the company), we will not expect more than 64GB of internal storage to be present in the handset.
We also expect a 3,600mAh battery, which will definitely be able to provide more talk time to the user thanks to the efficient 2.2GHz quad-core Kryo processor, but we have no word on its pricing, meaning that you will be updated concerning this during the month of February, or even before that. Tell us what you think of the specifications so far.
