Apple has just seeded the fourth beta of OS X 10.11.1 El Capitan to both developers and testers. The new build is available to download immediately from the Mac App Store.
Apple is slowly and steadily pushing out new beta releases of its desktop OS to beta testers and developers both, ensuring that the final release is as stable and bug free as possible. Today’s release, carrying the build number 15B38b, comes with a bunch of bug fixes and performance enhancements, something which are a part of parcel of every pre-release software from the Cupertino giant.
If you’re a developer or a beta tester and happen to have one of the previous builds of OS X 10.11.1 installed on your Mac, then we highly recommend that you update right away. Provided that you’re connected to a WiFi network, launch the Mac App Store and click on the ‘Updates’ button at the top right hand corner. Once here, let the Mac App Store refresh for a few seconds, then the fourth beta will be presented to you for download. Click on the ‘Update’ button next to the listing and the fourth beta release will start downloading onto your Mac. Also keep in mind that you’ll be required to restart your Mac once the download and installation process is complete, therefore we recommend that you save all of your work beforehand if you’re planning to install the build right away.
It’s likely that the final release of OS X 10.11.1 El Capitan will be with us very soon, given that we’re already sitting on the fourth beta of the software. The point update aims to fix a bunch of issues which users might have been facing in OS X 10.11, and when the release does hit download channels, then it’s a no-brainer to go ahead and install it immediately. After all, the new update will bring with it security patches, bug fixes and the oh-so important performance enhancements.
